Unplug and Connect to a Simpler Time with the Port Gamble Guest Houses

Situated on the water in the Northwest corner of Port Gamble, are two beautiful historic homes that originated in Port Ludlow, WA before being barged over in the late 1920’s – early 1930’s as the Port Ludlow saw mill was set to close. They served as housing for employees of the Port Gamble saw mill. After renovations in the early 2000’s, they were opened as vacation rentals. In early 2008, the current business owners Patrick Stults and Douglas Nicholson stayed at the Guest Houses and fell in love with them. A few years later they met and partnered with Rhea Schneider (now the owner of WISH Mercantile in town), who helped elevate the business to what you see today by adding amenities, beautiful gardens and unique furniture.

In 2017, Stults and Nicholson became full-time owners of the vacation rental business and have enjoyed furnishing the houses with unique and antique items, giving them a real historic feel. Patrick and Doug also have a business called Anne Tweekes that specializes in vintage and unusual home decor: depression glass, ceramics, barware, visual art, and re-purposed items. “The guest houses have become a great retreat destination for fiber artists, family reunions, and simply a place to connect with friends and family” stated Stults. “One of our most popular seasonal specials is the offer of a third night at half rate when two nights are rented.” he added. Many couples getting married in Port Gamble rent the Guest Houses and have enjoyed the special. Another great deal: they have started waiving the cleaning fee when three or more nights are rented.

Stults and Nicholson enjoy working with Port Gamble businesses to offer special items or deals with various businesses to enhance their guest’s experience while visiting the historic town. Whether you’re from Kitsap County looking for a beautiful escape, planning a retreat for your special group, or planning a family reunion, let Port Gamble Guest Houses help you unplug and connect to a simpler time.
