On January 2nd, 2020, business owners Heidi Morgan and Scott Williams opened the doors to historic House 11 on Rainier Ave. in Port Gamble. House 11 is Port Gamble’s newest house built in 1918-19 and is home to Port Gamble’s newest business, House 11 Taproom & Bottle Shop.

Heidi Morgan & Scott Williams, who own Peninsula Pies in Hansville, WA, wanted to create a place and atmosphere that fosters creativity. “We wanted to open a place that focuses on fun activities like live music, small club meet-ups, wine events, and tasting classes” Morgan stated. From the nice artwork placed carefully around the business and unique seating areas, to the great selection of beer and wine, I would say they have accomplished an amazing atmosphere. From the downstairs seating areas, you have great views of Gamble Bay and Port Gamble’s historic Rainier Ave. I was surprised to find the upstairs open to customers with some great seating areas including a record player and a room that is great for a small private party or meeting. This place is very comfortable and inviting everywhere you turn.

Along with the inviting atmosphere comes the stars of the business, the beer and wine. They have racks full of wine that is local to international, the kind of stuff you don’t find everywhere. “We want to provide wines from smaller wineries that produce organic-made products with a focus on sustainability” Morgan said. Check out their selection book in the wine room to learn everything about the wine you are about to taste. Heidi & Scott are focused on providing beers from the PNW, with some from out of state. Either way, there’s a great variety. If you don’t have time to sit and enjoy, they offer a discount on wine or 6-pack of beer to take home with you.

This Spring, Morgan & Williams plan to roll out a menu of “small plates” with charcuterie/cheese boards, pretzels, and paninis.

House 11 Taproom & Bottle Shop can host private parties up to 20 people. The are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, open Wed.-Thursdays 2pm-9pm, Fridays-Saturdays 12pm-10pm, and Sundays 12pm-8pm.
